Biography
Dorothy Doring is a Minnesota-based vocalist with a unique musical style, a charismatic stage presence and a voice that exudes passion and experience.

Doring is known to Twin Cities jazz fans through her appearances at leading clubs like the Dakota and premier events like the Twin Cities Jazz Festival. Doring has a B.S. in Vocal Music and a Masters of Arts in Education currently keeping a balance between her varied singing performances and her position as a full-time vocal music teacher for the Saint Paul Public Schools.

Dorothy has a versatile musical background with experience in everything from folk to pop, country to rock, from R&B to latin, to blues and jazz. Dorothy grew up in Montevideo, Minnesota always knowing her destiny, first singing on stage at age 4, on local radio at age 9, gigged in a band through out high school, after graduating from Moorhead State University, Doring went professional performing six nights a week and has continued to keep a full, diverse and active singing career though out her adult life.

"Southern Exposure" was recorded in 2004-2005 in New Orleans (pre-Katrina) and was re-released nationally in 2008.
 CD was listed on the 51st Grammy Award Entry Nomination Ballot in the category of "Best Jazz Vocal Album" 

Minnesota Music Academy Award Nominee for Jazz Recording of the Year, 2002 for self-produced CD “ABOUT TIME”

Named “Professional of the Year Representing Entertainment” by Cambridge Who’s Who for the 2007-2008.

Alumni of " The Cabaret Conference" - Class of 2007  Yale University
