| Dorothy Doring's CD release "Southern Exposure" on Quarter Note Records was recorded in New Orleans with producer/pianist David Torkanowsky and a crew of world-renowned Crescent City musicians. Dorothy, a Minnesota native began working on the CD project in 2004, spending her summers and vacation time as a "visiting resident" of the French Quarter, surrounded by the inspiring sounds and flavors of her second musical home. "Southern Exposure" was originally released in 2005 and later internationally re-released in 2008 and was on the list of Entry nominees on the 51st Grammy Entry list Nomination Ballot for "Best Jazz Vocal Album". |

David Torkanowsky/Arranger/ Producer
David Torkanowsky has produced a number of recordings for artists like Dianne Reeves (Blue Note Records), Steve Masakowski (Blue Note Records), and the Neville Brothers. David was raised in the fertile cauldron of New Orleans, mentored by his father who was conductor for the New Orleans Symphony Orchestra and under the tutelage of jazz greats such as Albert "Papa" French, Erroll Garner, Ellis Marsalis, Professor Longhair and Dr. John. David was hired as musical director for the Al Hirt Big Band and spent years as pianist/arranger for Dianne Reeves, Boney James and Boz Scaggs. He is a founding member of the revered Astral Project and has worked regularly with numerous headliners such as Kirk Whalum, Eddie Harris, Nat Adderly, Larry Coryell, Bobby McFerrin, Maria Muldaur, Kermit Ruffins, Terrance Blanchard and Maurice Brown.
